Carrot flies are attracted to the orange colour of the trap and get caught in the glue.

Preparation

  • Slide the securing spring onto the field pole, the spring will move easily up or down the pole when the arms of the spring are pulled apart slightly
  • Hang one sticky trap onto the spring by the holes (sticky side down) and secure this to the pole at an angle of 45 degrees with the use of the fixing clip

Application

  • The trap should be placed at a height just above the height of the crop, the trap can be raised by sliding the spring up the pole as the crop grows
  • Replace the traps as required once Carrot root fly is observed

Dosage

3-4 traps per field.

Timing

There are normally two generations of carrot fly a year. The first generation appears late April/early May and the second towards late July/August (depending on geographic location). Carrot Fly traps should be placed during these periods.
